Standing Ovation Program
for NED Choruses/Chapters

PURPOSE OF THE STANDING OVATION PROGRAM (SOP)
The purpose of the Standing Ovation Program is to assist chapters in the Northeastern District to develop shows that will be entertaining to our audiences. The reviewer investigates all aspects of the show, starting with ease to access and park at the venue right through from entering the building to how the group handles the last note sung and acknowledging the audience. As a reviewer, we care not only about the group but how welcome the chapter made each audience member feel.
The reviewer will try to highlight the many positive things that the chorus did and point out the areas where improvements can be made. One of the best ways to accomplish this is to observe the chapter’s dress rehearsal so any adjustments could be made prior to showtime.
For Chapters:
THE PROGRAM
The SOP is available to Everyone in Harmony chapters and quartets. Our experienced reviewers are willing to evaluate chapter shows and holiday concerts, including quartets performing on stage. We would also like to expand into evaluating major performances. It is hoped this opportunity will allow the review team to assist in improving the quality of performances and audience enjoyment. The review is shared only with the chapter or quartet requesting the review.
HOW TO REQUEST A REVIEW
Contact Dianne Brooks via email at tdbrooks07@msn.com as early as possible to allow time to obtain a reviewer. The more notice, the better your chances that a reviewer will be available.
CHAPTER OR QUARTET FEEDBACK ON REVIEW
Following a show review, the chapter show chair, president and/or director (or quartet) will be asked to take a brief six question survey to assist us in measuring the effectiveness of the program.
